William H Woods, 76 of Summit, MS passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his residence in Summit, MS. He was born Friday, August 23, 1946 in McComb, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sharkey Funeral Home at 1023 Old Brookhaven Rd, Summit, MS. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetary in McComb, MS.  Dr. David Millican will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-276-7475

Mr. Woods retired as a postmaster with the United States Postal Service after serving over 40 years.  He was an avid Ole Miss fan, enjoyed reading, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Bates Woods;  father, Herbert Woods;  mother, Retha Wilkinson McCurley.

Survivors include his sons, Andy Woods (Kandice) of Magnolia, MS, Richard Woods (Heather) of Mccomb, MS and Ray Woods (Pam) of Summit, MS;  daughter, Melissa Jackson (Joe Jr.) of Summit, MS; brother, Larry McCurley; grandchildren, Kyle Woods, Joseph Woods, Amanda Woods, Katie Ladnier (Will), Michael Williams, Brittany Wall (Henry), Amber Woods, Koty Jackson, Connor Jackson (Pacha), Bethany Jackson, Abigail Harper; 20 great-grandchildren;  and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Joe Jackson, Jr., Koty Jackson, Michael Williams, Henry Wall, Larry McCurly, Chris Wroten.
