William "Bill"
Thomas Petty
January 4, 1948 – March 19, 2021
Mr. William "Bill" Thomas Petty, 73, of Mc Call Creek, MS, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Bill was born in Delhi, LA on January 4, 1948 and was the son of Pearly Petty and Xury May Dotsy Petty. He came from humble means and was a family man. His family meant the world to him and he dedicated his life to them. They would often joke with him because he was a sensitive man and would cry at the drop of a hat. His most favorite thing to do was watch reruns of The Walton's and Gunsmoke with his darling wife, Bonnie. He never missed a single sporting event of his grandsons and they kept him running from field to field even if they were watching from the wrong location. He was retired from the Oilfield and was one of the most sought after Heavy Equipment Mechanics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Dale Petty and David Petty; one son, Jimmy Dale Petty and one nephew, John David Petty.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 38 wonderful years, Bonnie Petty of Mc Call Creek, MS; two sons, Kevin Petty of Raleigh, NC and Wesley Petty of New Orleans, LA; two daughters, Michelle Hill and William of Brookhaven, MS and Virginia Petty of Mc Call Creek, MS; one brother, Jesse Wayne Petty and Sue of Summit, MS; three grandsons, Parker Greer, Myles Hill and Gunner Leggett; his father-in-law, John D. Fife and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5PM until 8PM and continue on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS with Bro. Raymond Gonzales officiating. A burial will follow in the Petty Family Cemetery in Summit, MS.
