On Friday April 8, 2022,  William Butler Gillis Jr, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 76.

William was born on June 20, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to William and Nellie Gillis.  He attended both SLU and LSU graduating with a degree in Forestry.  William married Mona Kepler in May 1970.  Together they raised two children Will and Jenny.

William loved all things Sci-fi and camping.  He was known for his ability to fix anything from cars to computers along with his ability get things done behind the scenes.  He attended Mandeville Bible Church faithfully and was always around to help out in whatever needed to be done. His piercing blue eyes and quick wit will always be remembered.

William is preceded in his death by his father Billy, mother Nellie and sisters Jane and Beth. He is survived by his wife Mona, sister Martha, son Will and daughter Jenny as well as his five grandchildren Abby, Maggie, Nathan, Liam and Lilly.

He was loved and will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday April 23, 2022 at Mandeville Bible Church from 11 to 12 pm.  Please join us to celebrate his life and all the stories and memories of how he touch our lives.
