Walter J. Trott, 70, of Ruth, passed away, Friday, May 03, 2019 at Lawrence County Nursing Center.

He was born March 23, 1949 to Veronica Daniel Pevey.

Mr. Trott retired after 40 plus years as a Tool Pusher with Nabors Offshore Drilling. He faithfully served our nation in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife and spending his time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother; wife, Darlene Trott; daughter, Mary Theresa Trott; and one brother, William Ray "Billy" Trott.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Trott and wife, Marty of Silver Creek, MS, Scott Smith and wife, Julia of Ruth, MS, and Damon Broome of Huntsville. AL; daughter, Karen Broome of Columbia, MS; one sister, Donna Sue Hodges and husband, Wiley of Jackson, MS; one sister in law, Charlotte Trott and the late William Ray "Billy" Trott of Oakvale, MS; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation is Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Sharkey Funeral Home in summit from 5PM until 8PM and Monday, May 6, 2019 from 9AM until services at 10AM with Bro. Tim Allred officiating.  Burial will follow in Ruth cemetery under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.

Pallbearers are Richard Clark, Taylor Clark, Matt Parkman, Damon Broome, Trey Harvey, and Scott Smith.
