Obituary

Virginia A. Dillon, 83, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2022 at Southwest Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 3, 1938 and was the daughter of Bonnie Roberts and Nona Mae Roberts.


Mrs. Virginia loved to garden and grow flowers. Her family said she had a green thumb and could grow anything. Before she got low, she loved to cook and feed her family, especially her great grandbabies. She had a special dog named Snoopy, who she loved dearly. She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church. Her family said she loved to read the bible and work her word find puzzles. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.


She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Cleveland Dillon; one son, Teddy Dillon; one daughter, Carla McNemar; and four sisters, Mary Whittington, Bonnie Gail Hughes, Doll Bateman and Linda Swims.


She is survived by son, James Dillon and Lisa of Richton, MS; one sister, Joann Kirkland; four grandsons, Nevada Watts and Caren of Smithdale, MS and Joseph Watts and Kelly of Summit, MS, William Dillon and Shaffer Dement; three granddaughters, Sonya Maniscalco, Debora Nations and Kala Landrum; thirteen great grandchildren, Christian, Adelia, Courtney, Anthony, Brady, Gabby, Kylie, Tripp, Holden, Hayden, Henley, Addi, and Emma and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


Pallbearers will be R.D. Kirkland, Sammy Kirkland, Jerry Watts, Justin Williams, Nevada Watts, and Anthony Nations.


A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5PM to 8PM and will continue on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 12PM till time of service at 2PM at Sharkey Funeral Home. Bro. Shan Van Norman will officiate. Burial will be at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.
