Mrs. Sylvia Irene Delaney, 69, of McComb, MS, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Courtyard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McComb, MS.

Mrs. Irene was born in McComb, MS on December 27, 1951 and was the daughter of Jasper Donald Cooper, Sr. and Jessie Lee Lilly Cooper. She was a lady of many hobbies. She loved eagles, puzzles, quilting and crocheting. Her favorite hobby was her flowers. She always used to say, "The best way to make them grow is to talk to them and spit on them". To her, family meant everything. She loved her children and grandbabies. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Chisholm and one sister, Doris Brooks.

She is survived by one daughter, Christy Delaney of McComb, MS; three sons, Gerald Delaney of McComb, MS, Steven Delaney of McComb and Byron Delaney and Christy of Jayess, MS; five grandchildren, Hannah Hilton and Austin, Savanna Vaden and Levi, Daniel Delaney and Taylor, Alexis Allen and Gracie Delaney; two great-grandchildren, Asher and Benzi Hilton; three sisters, Patsy Seavey, Merle Disotell and Bubba, Carolyn Ready and Tommy,; one brother, Buster Cooper and Rachel and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Delaney, Steven Delaney, Byron Delaney, Daniel Delaney, Wiley Johnston, Shane Cooper, Scottie Cooper and Joe Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Gracie Delaney and Cody Phillips.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 11:30AM until time of service at 2PM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS with Bro. Ronnie Delaney, Bro. Aldon Morris and Bro. Bubba Disotell officiating. A burial will follow in the Rushing Cemetery in Tylertown, MS.
