Seaborn Lamar

April 29, 1933 – August 25, 2020
Mr. Seaborn Lamar Melton, 87, of Summit, MS, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Lamar was born in McComb, MS on April 29, 1933 and was the son of Seaborn Wayne Melton and Mildred Deer Travis. He was a member of New Life Apostolic Church for 30 plus years and loved his church family. He was an avid hunter. He loved the outdoors and especially loved his hunting dogs. He was a family man and enjoyed his time spent with them. Nothing made him happier than for his kids and grandbabies to drop in and visit him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bobbie Blankenship.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Melton of Summit, MS; three sons, Carlos Melton and Wanda of Summit, MS, Edward Melton of Summit, MS and Eric Melton and Letitia of Smithdale, MS; one daughter, Lyvonne Reed and Ronnie of Summit, MS; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four- great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 2PM until time of service at 4PM at New Life Apostolic Church in Summit, MS and graveside following in Whittington family Cemetery in Smithdale with Rev. Kenneth Patten and Rev. Marc Rutland officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Reed, Kory Melton, Aaron Melton, Landon Melton, Zachary Melton and Justin Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Reed, Ronald Haygood, Claude Parker, Ed Young and Lynn Freeman.
