Sammie Margaret Anglin, 88, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. She was born Sunday, August 4, 1935 in Magnolia, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 1:00 pm until funeral services at 3:00 pm at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit. Burial will follow in Terry's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Magnolia. Dr. David Millican and Rev. Jeremy Greer will officiate the services.

Sammie was a lifelong resident of Amite County. She loved caring for people and worked for forty years as a nurse, and she later retired from Beacham Hospital in Magnolia. Sammie also loved sewing and spending time in the outdoors. She made Halloween costumes, drove tractors and four wheelers, tended cows, planted flowers, and sprayed thistles. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Billy Anglin; her Parents, Carey & Ruth Langenstein Bankston; and one Brother, Carey Bankston.

She is survived by her Son, Chris Anglin (Karen), of Magnolia; her Daughter, Cathy Gaye Hastings (Billy), of McComb; eight Grandchildren; thirteen Great Grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild; and a host of other Family members & friends.

Pallbearers will be Adam Anglin, Lee Anglin, George Anglin, Stacy McCaskill, Mark Statham, Lucky Martin, and Monty Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dee Dunaway, Kevin Dunaway, and Ben Boyd.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Camelia Estates, as well as Dr. Michael Bookhardt and the nursing staff of the ICU wing at Southwest Regional Hospital.
