Roy Leland Thompson, 92, of Summit, MS, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home.

He was born on February 13, 1927 and was the son of Louie and Sybil Thompson.

Mr. Thompson proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and is a World War II Veteran. He will be remembered as an honorable man who loved his family and his country.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Juanita Y. Thompson; his daughter, Marilyn Garrett of Summit, MS; his son, James Thompson and wife, Darlene Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Timothy Garrett of Gulfport, MS, Benjamin Garrett and wife, Brandi Garrett of Madison, MS, Emily Yepes and husband, Santiago Yepes of Greenville, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Alex Garrett, Grayson Garrett, and Natalia Yepes.

Visitation will be held at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS on Monday, July 1 at 10:00am, followed by a memorial service to honor his life at 11:00am.
