Mrs. Rosemary Brent Boyd, 90, of St. Rose, LA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at East Jefferson Medical Center in Metairie, LA.  She was born on October 9, 1928, in Holmesville, MS, to Andrew Preston and Gertie Felder Brent. She married Grady Robert Boyd on November 4, 1949, and was faithfully married for 51 years until his death on May 23, 2000. She was of the Baptist faith; worked for many years as a retail manager; and enjoyed fishing, watching sports (especially basketball and baseball), working in her vegetable garden and watching preaching on her television. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Grady R. Boyd; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Soper; sisters, Martha Price, Julia Alexander, Ida Johnson and Bertie Bearden; and brother, Frank "Buster" Brent.

Survivors are her sons, Robert E. Boyd (Gail) of Rose Hill, MS, and Ronald N. Boyd (Karen) of Kenner, LA; son-in-law, Paul Soper of Thibodaux, LA; sister, Irene Brent Lambert of McComb, MS; grandchildren, Kayla Harper (Alan), Robbie Boyd (Kelly), Travis Boyd, Joshua Boyd (Hali), Justin Boyd, Benji Welch (Stephanie) and Lisa Welch; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Sharkey Funeral Home (1023 Old Brookhaven Road) in Summit, MS, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Sharkey Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS.  Bro. Jared Leonard will be officiating the services with Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Robbie Boyd, Travis Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Justin Boyd, Paul Soper and Wayne Lambert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Boyd's name may be made to the Gideon's International.
