Robert Edgar Reeves, 78, of Summit, MS died Thursday, August 24, 2023 after a long struggle with cancer at Camilla Estates in McComb, MS.

He was born October 29, 1944 in McComb, MS. He was the son of Moses Robert and Geraldine Neyland Reeves and was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church in McComb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Wayne Price. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Hales Reeves of Summit, MS, a daughter, Michelle Reeves Macaluso of Texas, a son and daughter-in-law, William Robert and Sarah Reeves of Hawaii. Also, a sister, Amelia Sue Reeves Price and family of Pricedale, MS.

Robert loved the outdoors. He spent time deer hunting, fishing and camping and he was very active with the Amateur Radio Club.

Robert graduated from McComb High School in June of 1962. He then attended Mississippi State University and graduated in May of 1966 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. In August of 1967, he received a second degree in Business Administration.

He served in the U S Army as a 1st Lieutenant from 1967 to 1970. Most of his career, he worked for United Oil Products and his last position was Senior Process Design Engineer in Chickasaw, AL (Mobile)

A visitation will be held at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS beginning at 10 AM on Thursday, August 31 until time of service at 11 AM. Burial will take place immediately after at Reeves Cemetery on River Ridge Rd, Summit, MS with Rev. E. J. Didon officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Mr. Reeves' name be sent to Friendship Baptist Church, 1046 Friendship Circle, McComb, MS 39648 or to a charity of choice.
