Mr. Robert L. "Bob" McFadden, Sr. 88, of Smithdale, MS, passed from this life on Monday, September 26, 2022 at McComb Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McComb, MS.
Mr. Bob was born in Natchez, MS on December 27, 1933 and was the son of Louie McFadden and Florence Bopp McFadden. He was a Christian man and loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher of the men's class and a deacon. He served our country in the United States Air Force as a captain. He was a fighter/interceptor pilot and flew the F89 jet. After serving, he attended LSU, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree and worked as a certified public accountant until retirement. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and traveling all over with his wife. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by loving wife of 67 years, Ann Steele McFadden of Smithdale, MS; one son, Robert McFadden, Jr and Phyllis of Watson, LA; one daughter, Sandra Thibodeaux and Chuck of Greenwell Springs, LA; four grandchildren, Kyle Thibodeaux and Maegan, Amie Thibodeaux Magee and Jesse, Peyton McFadden, and Ashlynn McFadden; three great-grandchildren, Riley Thibodeaux, Gavin Magee, and Haley Magee, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS with Bro. Eric Moak officiating. A burial will follow on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11AM in the Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Thibodeaux, Peyton McFadden, Jesse Magee, Daniel McKenzie, Fred Young, and Carey Buckles.
