Mrs. Rebecca Dean Reames Travis, 82, of Summit, MS, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Aston Court Assisted Living in McComb, MS.
Mrs. Becky was born in Baton Rouge, LA on October 21, 1939 and was the daughter of Walter A. Reames and Julia Dean Porath Reames. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Park Drive Pentecostal Church in McComb. She had a direct way of speaking and a dry sense of humor. Her grandchildren were the jewels of her eye and she treasured each moment spent with them. She loved her crossword puzzles, hummingbirds, reading and Pike, Amite, Walthall library system where she retired. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Delos N. Travis, Sr, and two brothers, Kirk Reames and Patrick Reames.
She is survived by her two sons, Delos Noel Travis, Jr. and Jennifer of Summit, MS, and Troy Travis and Lori of Terry, MS; four grandchildren, Katelyn Travis of Summit, MS, Cody Smith and Megan of Lakewood, CO, Parker Travis and Adi of Jacksonville, NC, and Abigail Travis of Summit, MS; one great grandchild, Peyton Smith; three brothers, Richard Reames and Loretta of Baton Rouge, LA, Bryan Reames and Nelda of Kentwood, LA, and Robert Reames and Pattie of Pride, LA; three sisters, Pamela Galtier and Charles Bujol of Plaquemine, LA, Judy Achord and Walter of Anna, TX, and Mary Rushing and Charles of Hemphill, TX; three special friends, Mary Roberts, Mattie Rials, and Scooter Mouse, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 10AM until time of service at 2PM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS with Bro. Robert Reames and Bro. Terry Ballard officiating. A burial will follow in the Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aston Court Assisted Living and Dr. Andy Watson for their care.
