Infant Paxton Lane Byrd, 0 of Smithdale, MS passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Jackson, Mississippi.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale; MS. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithdale. Bro. Eric Moak will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Deborah (Missy) Byrd; great grandfathers, Sam Thornhill, Roan Dier, Jerry Byrd and Sammy Keene; great grandmothers, Myra Thornhill, Clarice Dier and Marcy Keene.

Survivors include his father, Matthew Cory Lane Byrd;  mother, Kayla Renae Dier Byrd;  brother, Oliver Lane Byrd;  sisters, Madeline Michelle Byrd and Magnolia Denise Byrd;  grandfathers, Roger  Dale Dier and Darren Byrd;  grandmothers, Pamela Dier and Brittany Byrd;  great grandmother, Merry Joyce Byrd;  aunts, Kimberly Canton (Cody), Skylar Byrd, Carmen Byrd and Jennifer May; uncles, Matthew Dier (Kaylee Jo Porter), Dustin Byrd (Victoria) and Kenneth Byrd; cousins, Kyler Canton, Riggs Dier, Rebecca Byrd, Elizabeth Byrd, Kayla May, Luna May and Sophia May.
