Patricia Anne Kennedy 82, of Magnolia, MS passed from this life on August 10, 2019 at her residence.
Ms. Patricia was born November 12, 1936 to Jack Elliott and Bessie Lillie Bell Leggett.
Ms. Patricia grew up in Brookhaven MS, and graduated from Brookhaven High School where she was known as Patty and was a Y-Teens and FHA club member. She met Bobby Kennedy, the love of her life at Browns Cafe in Brookhaven and soon there after married on May 10th 1957 where they settled in Pike County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Magnolia where she served as the church secretary for several years. She loved to garden, was a grand cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving, Christian mother, MeMe to grand children, and had a heart of service to all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert "Bobby" Kennedy; one brother, Frank Leggett; four sisters, Juanita Leggett, Rena Smith, Mary Murihead and Evelyn Wolbrecht.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Jeane Kennedy of Magnolia, MS, Elizabeth Kay Kennedy of Magnolia, MS and William Andrew Kennedy (Mary) of Pompano Beach, FL.; three sisters, Myrtle McDavid and the late (Bud McDavid) of Zachary, LA, Edna Smith (Melvin) of Biloxi, MS and Peggy Applewhite (Glenn) of Brookhaven, MS; one sister in law Opal Leggett of Brookhaven, MS; three grandchildren, Karen Price (Don) of Magnolia, MS, Robert Young (Heather) of Magnolia, MS and Samuel Kennedy of Pompano Beach, FL.; three great grandchildren, Nick Young, Ralph Price and Ben Young.
Visitation is Tuesday at Sharkey Funeral Home 1023 Old Brookhaven Rd Summit, MS from 5PM until 8PM and continues Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Magnolia from 10AM until services at 11AM with Dr. Barry Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
