Owen Riley Ferguson Jr. 81, of McCall Creek, MS passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 21, 1944, to Annie Adcock of Rankin County and Owen Riley Ferguson Sr. of Leake County.

Owen was proceeded in death by his wife Jonni Kathryn McCaskell, son, Michael Porter, parents and grandparents James Adcock and Sina Ann Cooksey. He was raised alongside his siblings, brothers, Richard Thomas Ferguson, Joseph Gremshel; sisters, Mary Leta Ferguson Davis, Patricia Ann Gremshel.

He Married the love of his life of 34 years, Jonni Kathryn McCaskell Ferguson. He cherished every moment they had together until she passed in 2014 and he remained a loving husband.

To his children, Owen was more than just a father, he was their protector, teacher, supporter and constant source of strength. Owen is survived by his children, William Scott Ferguson (Mary), John Wayne Littlejohn (Karen), and Simone Ferguson.

In addition to being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Retired officer Owen dedicated 20 years of serving his country as a member of the United States Secret Service uniform division. He began his distinguished career on November 16, 1970, and served until November 17, 1990. He had the extraordinary honor of protecting five different Presidents. Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. His service placed him in a unique chapter of American history. Yet despite the significance of his career those who knew him best knew that his proudest role was not found in a uniform or inside the white house. It was found at home as a husband, father, grandfather (pawpaw) and Uncle Riley.

His family will remember him not only for the years he spent protecting presidents, but for the lifetime he spent protecting the people he loved most. He made sure everyone was happy, fed and taken care of and he made sure to give you a four hour history lesson. Owen loved telling his past stories.

His legacy lives in the family he built, the children he raised, the grandchildren he loved and the memories he left behind.

Grandchildren are Katelynne Ferguson, Michael Littlejohn (Chelsea), Scott Ferguson, Brent Davis, Tate Martin and Jessica Smith Halford. Great-grandchildren, Alyssa Ferguson, Kyleigh Ferguson, Kinley Littlejohn and Josiah McLain.

Owen, you spent a lifetime protecting others, now you can rest.
