October 25, 1926 – December 28, 2025
Nora L. Stormer, 99 of Jackson, MS passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the Lakeland Community Care Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Monday, October 25, 1926 in Fayette, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Gospel of Deliverance, 314 Raymond Road Jackson, MS 39204. Nora, a woman of unwavering faith, lived her life as a testament to her beliefs. As a dedicated member of her church, she didn't just attend services—she lived the mission. Whether she was ministering to those in need, feeding the homeless, or providing a warm meal to a neighbor, her hands were always busy in service to others. When she wasn't volunteering, she found peace by the water fishing, joy in traveling to new places, and comfort in crocheting. She was a gifted cook who believed that a good meal was a form of grace, and she loved nothing more than sharing a table and a laugh with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stormer; son, Henry Stormer, Jr; daughter, Gloria Jean Carpenter; father, Monroe Johnson; mother, Arlea T George Johnson; brother, Homer W Taylor, Sr (Marion); sister, Helen Stuckey.
Survivors include her sons, Otha Stormer and Ron Fletcher (Erica); niece, Shelia Jackson of Pearl, MS. A host of spiritually adopted sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, nephews and nieces.
The family of the late Mother Nora Lee Stormer would like to express sincere thanks for the many prayers, phone calls, flowers, cards and other acts of kindness expressed to our family during our time of bereavement. The family would also like to express special thanks to Lakeland Community Care Center, Traditions Hospice, Gentiva Hospice, Gospel of Deliverance and Pastor Michael Guise. May God continue to bless each and every one of you.
