Nora Gantt Devine, 84, of McComb, passed away, Friday, December 29, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 13, 1933 in Carroll County, MS. She was the daughter of Aaron and Lele Hobson Gantt. Ms. Nora and her husband of 64 years, Monroe, worked for Riverside Gravel Co. where she was a dispatcher. She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church. Ms. Nora believed in volunteer work and could be found at the nursing home in East McComb for over 25 years, playing and calling Bingo for the residents. She also believed in supporting law enforcement. She always made sure that every Thanksgiving and Christmas that the McComb Police Department and Pike County Sheriff's Department had a traditional dinner brought to them that was prepared by her and her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Monroe Devine; a son, Jon Devine; a grandson, Jason Dunaway and a brother, Doyle Gantt. She is survived by her son Don Devine of McComb; her daughter, Tracye Devine of McComb; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Jerri Ann Gantt; four granddaughters, Stacy Bacot, Dawn LeBlanc, Lacey Dunaway and Kami Ryan; seven great-grandchildren, Madison and McKenna LeBlanc, Tyler Dunaway, Jaden Ryan, Kamaran Monroe Dunaway, Londyn Ray and Dakota Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday, January 1, 2018 at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 5PM until 8PM and Tuesday from 10AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Rick Kennedy and Bro.Chris Cawley officiating. Burial will be in Pike Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent in Mrs. Devine's memory to Hebron Church, P.O. Box 723, Lexington, MS 39095.
