Noel Lee Thornhill, 77, of Jayess, passed away, Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his residence.
He was born April 7, 1942 in Walthall County. He was the son of Ellis Foster Thornhill and Tear Elizabeth Nations Thornhill.
He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant, having serving served in the Vietnam War. He worked as an electrician but his family classified him, "as a jack of all trades".
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, E.F. Thornhill and one sister, Dorothy Whittington.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Carter Thornhill; one son and daughter-in-law, John William Ellis Thornhill and Melissa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Carney and Nathan Carney and Anna Lisa Greer and Dean Ray Greer; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Ann Thornhill; one sister, Joan Thornhill; grandchildren, Joshua Morris, Jason Morris, Allen McCullough, Michael McCullough, William McCullough and wife, Misty, Brayden Thornhill, Jessica Mills and Nick Greer; great-grandchildren, Brodie Morris and Chase Uhruh and other grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Tuesday at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 5PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 9AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Justin Morgan and Bro. David Hedden officiating. Burial will follow in Enon cemetery.
Pallbearers are David Boyd, Josh Morris, Jason Morris, Allen McCullough, Michael McCullough and William McCullough. Honorary pallbearers are Brodie Morris, Brayden Thornhill, Nate Carney and Dean Greer.
