Obituary

Nellie Dean Sudduth Jones, 89, a resident of McComb, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. She was born July 10, 1928 in McComb, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Charles Andrew and Allie Lois Wilkinson Sudduth. She was a lifelong member of South McComb Baptist Church. "Tell everyone hello and I love them." These were Nell's last words to her family and they describe Nell perfectly. Her passion was her family. She was sweet, gentle, kind and compassionatebut also witty, sassy and a tad sarcastic. She will always be remembered as the fun-loving matriarch of a family filled with strong women. Nell loved her three daughters and their families. Nell had an amazing life. She shared hugs with everyone she met. She spent her days cooking, knitting, sewing, painting and cheering for her beloved New Orleans Saints. She designed Barbie doll dresses for her daughters, and when they grew up, she made their wedding gowns. When age made sewing, cooking, and her other hobbies too difficult, Nell became computer savvy, surfing the Internet and reading on her Kindle. She even joined Facebook to keep up with her grandchildren. She was never afraid to accept new challenges. Part of Nell's success in life was due to her faith. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and relied on her faith through the good times and the difficult times. She set an example by reading her Bible every day. Nell will be remembered for her faith, her strength, her love for others, and her sweet smile. There is no doubt she is looking down on everyone today and saying, "Tell everyone hello and I love them." She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Seaborn Reynolds "Jack" Jones; two brothers, T.J. Sudduth and Charles Leroy Sudduth and four sisters, Lillian Sudduth Dodson, Vencie Lea Cleveland Holmes, Winnie Mae Sudduth Seals and Ann Eugenia Sudduth Harms. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Prissy and Dale Hughes of Summit, Jackie and Larry Hughes of Summit, Kathy and Bill Rhinehart of Atlanta; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley and Jacob Brumfield, Danessa and Brad Etheridge, Jamie Hall, Marc and Julie Hughes, Brian and Erin Hughes, Lindsay and Tony Betancourt, Laura Beth and Michael Veal, Ashley Rhinehart and Josh Rhinehart; seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Emma Grace Etheridge, Caleb Hall, Shelbi Hall, Rylan and Hadlie Hughes and Shatehya "Tate" Shooter; a special niece, Lynda Kay and her husband, Mike Howell; a special nephew, Roy "Butch" Nelms and his wife, Judy and Mrs. Jones's dedicated caregiver/adopted daughter, Paulette Williams.
