Michael Charles Watts, 53, of Summit, passed away, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Merit Health Systems in Hattiesburg.

He was born July 28, 1965 in New Orleans, LA.  He was the son of Luther "Cootie" Watts and Geraldine "Jerry" Fletcher Watts.

He was a mill worker for Jones Lumber Company.  Mike also trained Racking horses and worked a number of years for Pioneer Stables and Hollywood Acres.  He loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family.  He was a graduate of North Pike High School.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Randall Watts; one sister and her husband, Sheila Schexnaydre and Gregory Schexnaydre.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Gunther Watts; his son, Luther Watts; his daughter Lauren Watts Taylor; two grandchildren, Matti Grayce Taylor and J.T. "Big Boy" Taylor;  two sisters and their husbands, Tammy and David Jackson and Kim and Danney Phillips, all of Summit; his in-laws, Patsy and Bucky Mulholland of Ferriday, LA and Billy and Jean Gunther of Summit; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Christy Gunther of Bogue Chitto; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Ronnie Terrell of Magnolia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Monday at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 5PM until 8PM and Tuesday from 9AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Glenn Bird and Bro. Michael Didon  officiating.  Burial will follow in the Johnston Station Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Derek Mason, Jonathan Phillips, Raymond Mason, Kevin Morgan, Greg McCaskell, Tanner Gunther, Michael Davis and Michael Pell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Watts, Josh Watts, Jonathan Watts and Austin Terrell.
