Mrs. Mary Savannah Deville Smylie, 83, of Liberty, MS passed from this life on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Savannah was born in Melville, LA on April 30, 1939 and was the daughter Dalton P. Deville, Sr. and Minnie C. Holland Deville. She was more of a home person. She loved to be outside at her house, working in the garden, or sitting on her back porch and looking and listening to the birds. She loved her family and cherished each moment spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emerson Smylie, and one sister, Martha J. Deville.

She is survived by one son, Bobby W. Watson of Zachary, LA; one daughter, Lynda W. Arceneaux of Liberty, MS; one brother, Dalton P. Deville, Jr. of Liberty, MS; two grandchildren, Cassie Watson of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jeremy S. Hobgood of Baton Rouge, LA; one great grandchild, Blaise Calamia; one nephew, Damon P. Deville and Mel of Baton Rouge, LA, and a host of other friends and family.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Robinson Baptist Church Cemetery in (Peoria) Liberty, MS, 39645 at 10:30AM with Bro. Vernon Groce officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
