Marjorie “Margie” Spears Daniels, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on May 21, 1935, in Osyka, Mississippi.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Jim E. Daniels; her daughter, Stephanie Lynn Daniels; her father, Fred Andrew Spears; her mother, Eunice Cutrer Spears; and her nine siblings: Talmage Spears, Roderick Spears, Jimmy Spears, Charles Spears, Ben Spears, Addie Lee Feigler, Louise Brown, Ruby Chambers, and Helen Smith.

She is survived by her loving son, Scott Daniels and his wife, Terri Daniels, along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.

Margie gave 30 years’ service to the Louisiana Department of Revenue, where she retired as a supervisor. Following her retirement, she enjoyed working as a hostess at her brother's steakhouse, O’Charley’s in Summit, MS, alongside several of her brothers and sisters. Those years were among the happiest of her life, as she treasured the opportunity to work side by side with the siblings she loved so dearly.

For the past seven years, Margie made her home at White Oak Post Acute, where she formed many meaningful friendships with fellow residents and caregivers. She especially enjoyed playing bingo, participating in arts and crafts, and sharing laughter and fellowship with those around her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and gentle spirit made her a blessing to everyone who knew her.

Margie will be remembered for her love of family, her strong work ethic, her kindness, and the joy she found in spending time with those she loved. Her life was a testament to devotion, perseverance, and quiet grace, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS. Family visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., with public visitation from 12:00 noon until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Margie will be laid to rest at Osyka Cemetery in Osyka, MS.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at White Oak Post Acute for the compassion, friendship, and loving care they provided for Margie throughout her years there.
