Obituary

Margaret Allen Dunn, 101, of McComb, passed away, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 1, 1916 in Brookhaven, MS to Hiram C. and Mary Smith Allen. Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker/salesperson. She sold for Salad Master Stainless Steel Cookware for many years and was the companies number 3 salesperson nationwide at one time. She was a longtime member of Faith Assembly of God. Other things she was known for was being a great wife, mother, grandmother, seamstress, church planter, a poet, Organic gardener and Bee keeper, just to name a few. She even restored antique organs. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a strong believer in family values and when it came to her Christian beliefs and her country, Mrs. Dunn was a strong witness for Christ and this country. She helped Paul Ott in his efforts to promote the flying of the Christian flag and returning prayer to our schools. For her efforts, Mrs. Dunn was invited to the State Capital to join Governor Phil Bryant and other dignitaries and supporters in promoting her beliefs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Grover Lee Dunn and two sons-in-law, Cecil Roberts and Dr. William Edmonson.

She is survived by her four children, Rita Roberts of McComb, James A. Dunn and wife, Robbie of Baton Rouge, Amanda Sue Edmonson of Trophy Place, TX and Paul R. Dunn and wife, Katie of Warner Robbins, GA; two sisters, Monell McCaffrey of Hattiesburg and Frances Moseley of Mobile, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 10AM until services at 1PM with Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Interment was family only.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
