Loretta Gayle
Mcdaniel
December 14, 1953 – May 24, 2022
Loretta "Gayle" McDaniel passed away at her home on May 24, 2022, in Magnolia, Mississippi. She was born December 14, 1953, in Arlington, Virginia to Phillip E. and Dorothy E. (Opper) Pell. She attended Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA and was a former Classification Clerk at United States Army Security Agency. She married Henry C. McDaniel on January 10, 2004, in Magnolia, Mississippi. He passed away on March 18, 2018. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Step-Father George Pell, her brother Ronald L. Hanson and wife Sherrill J. (Mullican) Hanson. Gayle is survived by her nephew James Hanson of Conroe, TX, niece Misty Hillman-Hanson and wife Shauna Hillman-Hanson of Katy, TX, her great-niece Elaine Hillman-Hanson, stepson James (Tabitha) Siglar of Grand Isle, LA and a host of extended and chosen family and friends.
Gayle loved to help whomever, and whenever, she could. She was an avid lover of dogs, specifically Akitas. She was a devoted and loving great-aunt to Elaine Hillman-Hanson and would always make phone calls and surprise visits which her great-niece truly loved and looked forward to. At any given moment her niece Misty Hillman-Hanson and wife Shauna Hillman-Hanson and nephew James Hanson would be surprised by a random package filled with holiday decorations, notebooks and magnets of family photos as keepsakes that Gayle randomly put together out of the kindness of her heart and as just another way of letting them know that they were thought about and loved. She loved to travel often to see her good friends Millie and Lay Lay in Louisiana. She worked as a bartender for many years in Grand Isle, Louisiana before she met Henry and later retired and moved to Mississippi. Gayle had an amazing way of keeping you laughing and always making sure that you knew that she loved and thought about you and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
