Lessie Bankston Robinson, 86, of Summit, MS, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her home.

She was born June 7, 1932, in Baptist, LA, to Joseph Bankston, Jr. and Ruby Griffin Bankston, the youngest of three sisters. She married her love, Bobby Robinson, in Baptist on February 10, 1952 and they spent the next 65 years together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her two sisters, Mabel Gatlin and Sadie Coot Martin. She is survived by two sons, Robert Kenneth Robinson and wife, Gwen, and Ronald E. Robinson and wife, Patricia; two daughters, Bobbie Sue Robinson and Sherry Reeve and husband, Jim; eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, special nieces Mary Anne Koop and Wendy Calagaz, and numerous other nieces and nephews.Lessie retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School System where she spent 12 years working as secretary at Ponchatoula High School. She was loved by staff and students alike. She spent a lifetime working in the church and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, from 5 PM until 8 PM, and will continue Friday, December 7, 2018, from 9 AM until services at 11 AM, with Bro. Robert Netterville officiating. Burial will take place at Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb, MS.
