Mrs. Laura Nettles, 88, from McComb, MS went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, October 23, 2021, at her residence.  She was the daughter of Mr. Walter Weeks and Mary Penny Phillips Weeks of Harrisburg, LA.

Mrs. Nettles was a dedicated housewife and a self-employed childcare giver in her early years. She was a life-long member of New Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nettles was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Lee Nettles of 48 years; a sister, Marie Lea; two brothers, John Walter Weeks and James Marvin Weeks.

She is survived by her son Billy Joe Nettles and a special daughter-in-law, Sheila, of McComb, MS; a sister, Lorraine Weeks; two brothers, Tollie Weeks and Jessie Weeks all of Harrisonburg, LA.

She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Liza Wallace (David), Joshua Nettles (Sydney) of McComb, Riley Nettles of Brookhaven, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lee Carrol, Henry Carrol, Joshua Nettles. Riley Nettles, Fred Lindsey, and J.C. Tolbert. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Lea and Ray Lea.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 9:00 until time of service at 11:00 at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Hollywood Cemetery. Bro. Rick Kennedy will be officiating with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
