Obituary

Kerry White Kent, 73, of McComb, MS passed away on January 22,2024 after a longer battle with cancer.

Kerry was born on November 18, 1950, to the late Thomas and Doris White in McComb, Ms.

Kerry worked many years in retail and established a long career with Walmart of McComb but later stepped out and took on another venture and began to work at North Pike Elementary cafeteria. Later, she became the manager and continued to run the cafeteria until retiring in 2013. She established many friendships in her many years there at North Pike and still talked about her babies that walked through the lunch line every day.

After retiring she decided sitting at home was not for her and took a job at First Baptist of Summit. She cleaned and became the kitchen coordinator and loved every second of it. Kerry made many friends and became closer to the Lord on her journey at the church. She remained working at FBC until falling too ill and having to resign in late 2022.

She was proceeded in death by the love of her life Gary Kent, daughter Carissa "Crissy" Morgan, son Ralph "Scooby" Jr. Morgan and both parents Thomas and Doris White. She is survived by her sister Vivian Lambert of Pascagoula, granddaughter Kelly Anne Smith (Dusty) of Magnolia, grandson Christian Blake Morgan of McComb, grandson Ralph John Morgan of McComb, granddaughter Savannah Odle (John) of Alma, NE. Also, great grandchildren Emily Morgan of Bethel, AK, Robert Timothy Robbins and Randen Robbins both of Alma, NE and Eli Smith of Magnolia, MS. Also, countless other extended family and bonus family gained along the way.

Her role as a mother, grandmother, and friend was filled. She raised countless children in her life and loved them all. Kerry was the best of all of us and she will live with us until we are called home to be with her. The love she had for her animals and neighbors is matched by no other. We are all very blessed to have had her in our lives.

She requested to have no service. If you would like to do something, please donate to First Baptist Church of Summit in her honor.
