Ken Whittington, 47, of McComb, passed away, Sunday November 5, 2017 at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was born November 21, 1969 in Baton Rouge, LA. He was the son of Davis Haygood, Sr. and Elsie W. Haygood. He was a member of South McComb Baptist Church. Ken was very involved in Dixie Youth baseball for 25 years where he coached several Dixie Youth teams in the Dixie Youth World Series in Tennessee, Utah and Florida. He was also involved in supporting the Miracle League in McComb. Ken's life revolved around his family, especially his children. He was also an avid Ole Miss fan. He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Danyelle Broom Whittington; his mother, Elsie W. Haygood; his children, Ryan Austin Whittington, Tanner Quinn Whittington, Gavin Lee Whittington, Greta Whittington, Tristan Lee Whittington and Tryton Douglas Whittington; two sisters, Robin McDaniel and husband Terry and Sherry McDaniel; his brother, Davis Christopher Haygood and wife, Alison; his father-in-law, Robert Broom and his sister-in-law, Tiffany Broom. Visitation is Tuesday at South McComb Baptist Church from 5 P M until 8 P M and Wednesday from 10 A M until services at 11 A M with Rev. Jeff Van officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.
