Katie Lee McKenzie Alayon, 81, of Summit, passed away, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 1, 1936 in Pike County, MS. She was the daughter of Alvie Leslie and Jimmy Estelle Jones McKenzie. For many years, Mrs. Alayon worked at Dog n Suds in McComb. She was a flower lover and one of her best trips was to Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Alayon ; one son, Brad "Shorty" Travis; one daughter, Sharon Simmons; a son-in-law, Gary Simpson; two brothers, Garland McKenzie and Donald Ray McKenzie and one sister, Jimmie Estelle McKenzie Jones. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Kathy Travis of Summit; five daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Simpson of Gulfport, Vicky and Jeff Davis of Magnolia, Stacey and Randy Childers of Summit, Irene and Tommy Lang of Dallas, TX and Linda and Todd Prescott of Tylertown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Sandra McKenzie of Fernwood and Lamar and Darla McKenzie of Altus, OK; one sister and brother-in-law, Nan and Joe Abbot of McComb; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Wednesday from 5PM until 8PM at Sharkey Funeral Home , 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 and Thursday from 5PM until 8PM at Sharkey Funeral Home and continues Friday from 10AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Fred Cook officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mac Cothren, Michael Davis, Jeffery Davis, Jr., Brandon Travis, Clarence Simmons, Julian Simmons, Chase Childers and Alton Simmons.
