Obituary

Julie Rene Moak, 39, of Gonzales, LA and formerly of Jayess, MS, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018.She was born January 31, 1979 in McComb. She was the daughter of Lonnie and Brenda Hyder Cox of Magnolia, MS.She was a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Parklane Academy and Southwest Mississippi Community College with an accounting and business degree and then an associate degree nursing program. At Parklane, Julie served as captain of the dance line team and was a cheerleader.Julie loved her children with all her heart. She loved bow fishing, hunting and recently took up the hobby of gardening and planting flowers. She loved all of nature and being surrounded by all it offered. She was at her core, a caretaker. She always cared for the misfortunate, the elderly and disabled of all species including humans. She loved the water, being on it, in it, or just next to it. But what she loved most was stickin reds, sheepshead, and flounder with her bow in the ponds and bays of South Louisiana.Julie cannot be accurately described without proper mention of her love for rocks. Always finding one she liked or one that looked like a heart and always hoping to find an arrowhead. She found peace digging in the dirt for them, cleaning them and putting them in bowls all over the house. If she had to be described in one word, that would be LOVE. Thats what she did, thats what she was, and it was real and unconditional and all who have been fortunate enough to encounter her, felt it.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Helen Cox and maternal grandparents, Nathan and Mamie Hyder.

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Moak of Gonzales; her children, Aliya Michelle Moesta and Allen Moesta of Magnolia; her parents, Lonnie and Brenda Cox of Magnolia; her brother, Michael Cox ( Dewayne Smith) of Ridgeland, MS; her paternal grandfather, Marlin Cox, Jr. of Jayess and other family and friends.
