Robinson
March 17, 1920 – January 18, 2019
J. B. Robinson died peacefully on January 18, 2019 at the age of 98. He was born March 17, 1920 in Peoria, Mississippi. In 1942 he began his service in the United States Army as part of the First Army as a D-Day soldier in Normandy, France and served until the end of WWII in 1945. On his return he went to back to work at Parkers Auto Parts until his retirement in 1984.He was a Master Mason in the McComb Masonic Lodge, F&AM, Mississippi, a member of the Mississippi Forestry Association, Southwest Forestry Association where he served on their board, a current member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, past member and deacon at J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church, and a founding member of Camp Bucksnort Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Parker Westbrook, and Julian A. Robinson, his grandson, Scott Allen Moore, and siblings, Mary Prescott, Annabelle Whittington, Maggie Truax, Urey Robinson, Emerson Robinson, Hilton Robinson, and Ceceal Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Malsbury Robinson, of 76 years, children, Donna Moore Lee (Nelson) of McComb, Julian Robinson (Sherri) of Petal, and Claire May (Mack) of Hermanville, six grandchildren, Juli Grettenberger (Kevin) of Houston, TX, Becky Melancon (Ryan) of Orange, TX, Daniel May (Rachel) of Brandon, MS, Corey Maser(John) of Apex, NC, Jocelyn Robinson-Logan (David) of Purvis, MS, and Jenna Latiolais (Rusty) of Duson, LA, by eleven great-grandchildren , Merrick Myers, Skye Myers, Ryker Voets, Rayne Melancon, Alyssi Melancon, Ryan Maser, Alex Maser, Julianne McQuirter, Vivian Logan, Dylan Logan, and Olivia Latiolais, and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to MSU Foundation for the J.B. Robinson SWMSFA Endowed Scholarship; Attn: Jeff Little; Box 9680; MSU, MS 39762 or New Covenant Presbyterian Church; 7133 Enterprise Road; Summit, MS 39666.
Graveside services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery on Sunday, January 20 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jim Plunk presiding.The family wishes to thank the staff and management of Aston Court Assisted Living for the loving care he received.Share condolences at sharkeyfuneralhome.com
