Mrs. Joseph Lynette Morgan Davis, 82, of Kentwood, LA, passed from this life, surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 7, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Lynette was born on October 19, 1937 in Mississippi and was the daughter of Rufus Morgan and Eve Edna Tarver Morgan. Her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant everything to her. She loved gardening and was a member of the Spring Creek Garden Club. She also loved to cook and would enjoy cooking her big meals on Sunday for her family. She was famous for her chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed traveling and competitive bowling with her late husband. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 wonderful years, Delton E. Davis.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Hatcher and Jimmie of Kentwood, LA, Theresa Davis of Kentwood, LA and Denise Gill and Mike of Kentwood, LA; one brother, Charles Morgan and Dot of Metairie, LA; one sister, Beverly Broussard of Mount Hermon, LA; seven grandsons, Brian Diddon and Kimberly, Blane Diddon and Dalanna, Major Hatcher and Charita, Bradley Diddon and Rebecca, Stanley Gill and Anika, Justin Hatcher and Sarah and Christopher Gill and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren, Journey, Blake, Luke, Ella Grace, Emily Morgan, Saylor and Adeline and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be her seven grandsons.
FAMILY ONLY visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 5PM until 6PM and continue for public from 6PM until 9PM and on Friday from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Kentwood, LA with Bro. Danny Smith officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood.
