Johnnie Mae Slaton Alger, 92, of Osyka, passed away, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 30, 1926 in Liberty, MS. She was the daughter of John Thomas and Maxie Harrell Slaton.

She was a homemaker and a member of Osyka Baptist Church. She loved gardening and loved just sitting and listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall Alger; one brother, Dock Slaton and one sister, Maxine Domingos.

Ms. Johnnie Mae is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Dianne Alger of Spring, TX; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger Alger Case and Wilford of Longview, TX,, Marsha Alger Roberts and Scott of McComb and Sandra Alger of Decatur, AL; seven grandchildren, Heather Case McDaniel and spouse, Richard, Joshua Morris and spouse, Heather, Morgan Morris Bourdeau and spouse, Jeff, Luke Morris, David Alger, Kelly Alger and spouse, Chris Krezinski, Carly Young and spouse, Jason; eleven great- grandchildren, Avery, Lily, Baileigh, Addyson, Brayden, Amelia, Emma Grace, Jackson Marshall, Evangeline, Magnolia and Honore and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS from 5PM until 8PM. Visitation continues Sunday at Osyka Baptist Church from 1PM until services at 2PM with Revs. Wilford Case and Jacob Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Osyka cemetery.
