John William Navarro, 80, a veteran of the United States Navy passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at his residence in McComb, MS.
John was born, January 23, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York to Doris Belliveau McQuade and Ramon Navarro. He grew up in Park Slope across the street from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where he also attended school.
At the age of 17, John enlisted in the Navy. He received a Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Award. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he began his career working as an offshore diver and diver supervisor. His profession took him around the world. His career brought him to New Orleans, where he met his wife.
John is preceded in death by his parents Ramon Navarro and Doris Belliveau McQuade; brothers, William Navarro and Ronald McQuade; and sister, Donna DiNallo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Wilson Navarro of McComb, MS; son, William Navarro of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Cathy Navarro Montoto (Robert) of Middleburg, Fl; daughter, Charise Dietrich Drouant (Fred) of New Orleans, LA; son, Billy Christopher Dietrich of New Orleans, LA; and sister, Linda DiNallo Palczynski (George) of Woodbridge, VA, 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
His loved ones will remember his devotion to his Catholic faith, his patience and laidback attitude, his love of reading and quirky humor.
