John T. Hutson, 66, of Mars Hill, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born Thursday, January 29, 1959 in McComb, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Summit, MS. Burial will follow in Hutson Hill Cemetery in Summit, MS.  Bro. Jared Leonard will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

With a spirit deeply rooted in God's creation, he found his truest peace amidst the rustling leaves and open skies. An avid outdoorsman, he reveled in the challenge of hunting, a pursuit that connected him intimately with the natural world he so adored. Beyond the woods, the rumble of heavy equipment was a familiar and welcome sound, a testament to his love for working the land. Yet, evenings often found him gathered around a table, a deck of cards in hand, engaging in lively games of rook. He also loved nothing more than "cutting up" and bringing a smile to everyone's face by telling a joke at anyone's expense and no one was excluded.

But above all else, his life was a testament to his profound devotion to family. He embraced everyone he met, truly believing he never met a stranger, extending warmth and kindness to all. His legacy is etched in the hearts of those he loved most, remembered as the best husband, dad, pawpaw, and great-pawpaw imaginable. His was a life richly lived, full of faith, love, and the joy of shared moments.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Earnest Hutson; mother, Darline Edmonds Hutson.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Darla J. Brown Hutson of Summit, MS; sons, John W.F. Hutson (Shanna) and James Rastus Hutson (Tabby); daughter, Darline Lucille "Lucy" Hutson; grandchildren, Krislyn Smith, Lane Smith, Tristan Hutson, Brooklyn Hutson, Aiden Hutson, Savannah Hutson, Gus Hutson, Gage Hutson and Ryleigh "Sally Sue" Hutson; brothers, Jimmy Hutson (Angela), Mark Hutson (Dinah) and Nick Hutson; great grandchild, Oaklynn Mikeska.

Pallbearers will be Trent Hutson, Mark Douglas Hutson, Mark Hutson, Jim-Hunter Hutson, Jimmy Hutson, Nick Hutson.

Honorary pallbearers will be    Dexter Hutson, Michael Wells, Chad Kennedy, Butch Kennedy, Reggie Fenn, Harley Stephens, Josh Hutson, Hilton "Jr." Williams.
