Mrs. Jimmie R. Thomas Stringer, 94, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at her residence in McComb, MS. She was born on September 8, 1923, in Pike County, MS, to Hattie Bullock Thomas. She was of the Baptist faith; was a homemaker; and enjoyed gardening and housework. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, O. D. Stringer, Sr.; sisters, Clara Mae Coney Marks, and Doris Coney Grafton; and brothers, Pete Thomas, Marshal Coney and Joe "Hoss" Coney. Survivors are her sons, Boots Stringer and wife Sylvia of McComb, MS, and Butch Stringer of Summit, MS; grandchildren, Kim, Kellie, Keri and Sherry; great-grandchildren, Karson, Austin,Koltin and Keelee; and a host of family and friends. Family gathering will be at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS, on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM with graveside service at Pike Memorial Gardens at 3:30 PM. Bro. David Millican and Bro. Trent Bilbo will be officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Compassus and the church family of Navilla Baptist Church.
