Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Boyd, 86, of McComb, MS, will be on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the McEwen Cemetery in Pricedale, MS. Dr. David Millican will be officiating the services, with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home the same day from 12:00 PM till time of service at 2:00 PM. Mr. Boyd, passed from this life on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born January 4, 1931 in Pike County, MS, to Mr. Clarence Boyd and Mrs. Mary Hightower Boyd. Mr. Boyd served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years in oil field maintenance for Mississippi Welding. He enjoyed all outdoor activity. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Mary Boyd; two brothers, Charles Boyd, J.W. Boyd; sisters, Marie McCullogh, Mary Alexander and daughter-in-law, Debbie Boyd. Survivors are his two sons, Jimmy Boyd and Johnny Boyd; brothers, Kent Boyd, Emory Boyd, Noah Boyd and Larry Boyd; sisters, Judy Walters, Eva Coon and Francis Landry; grandchildren, Tiffany, Amy and Ben; great-grandchildren, Zack, Guage, Noah, Nicholas and Alyssa, and a host of friends.
