Obituary

Janella McManus, 73, of Summit, passed away March 17, 2018, at McComb Nursing & Rehab to her heavenly home for ultimate healing and eternal life.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road in Summit, and continues 9 a.m. Wednesday until services there at 11. Pastor Diane Woodall will officiate. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.

Janella was born on March 21, 1944, in Summit, the daughter of Zack and Pluma Brown Allred. She retired from Kellwood Co. after many years of service. She was a devoted member of Summit United Methodist Church, where she served on several committees and was always willing to help in any way. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marie Kitchens, Alma Sellers and Edna Whitehead; two brothers, Charles and Heulon Allred; husband, Eddie Smith; and former husband and father of her children, Richard Dunn.

She is survived by husband, David McManus; son, Dewayne Dunn and his friend Rachel Meek; daughter, Richella (James) Chisholm; two grandchildren, Kimberly Chisholm and Katie Dunn; two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Bentley Chisholm; three sisters, Elaine (Duel) Corkern, Carolyn (John) Bowden and Bonnie (George) Wall; one brother, Donald Allred; mother-in-law, Jane Brumfield; three stepdaughters, Robin (Curt) Spring, Anna (Ricky) Blailock and Anna Louise (Bert) Burris; step-grandchildren, Daniel (Lesley) Chisholm, Justin Chisholm, Paige and Drew Smith, Garrett Blailock and Will and Dylan Burris; step-great-grandchildren, Luka Custode, Gage, Gracie, Mary Gatlin and Raylee Chisholm; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
