Mr. James Earnest Wallace, 92, of Summit, MS, passed from this life on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Silver Cross Health and Rehab Center in Brookhaven, MS.
Mr. James was born in Lincoln County, MS on March 26, 1930 and was the son of Parshall Wallace and Onnie Roberts Wallace. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time fishing at Lake Concordia and Old River in Louisiana. He loved cooking and sharing his fish with his family and friends. He also loved spending time in his garden and in his recliner watching Fox News. He was a lifelong member of New Heights Baptist Church in Summit, MS, formally East McComb Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Merrose Gatlin Wallace; two sons, Steve Wallace and Keith Wallace; one son-in-law, Dr. Wade Ditcharo; one brother, Durwood Wallace, and four sisters, Margo Tellalian, Louise Williams, Jenny Tucker, and Marietta Gatlin.
He is survived by his two daughters, Regina W. Sinclair (Bill) of Summit, MS, and Cathy W. Ditcharo of Brookhaven, MS; one daughter-in-law, Karen S. Wallace of McComb, MS; four brothers, Henry Wallace, Charlie Wallace, Gordon Wallace, and Harold Wallace; two sisters, Barbara Miller, and Georgia Ann Jones; ten grandchildren, Dr. Anthony Ditcharo, Natalie Ybarra, Amy Sorrell, Jamie Wallace, Sarah Jones, Julie Iupe, Dixon Sinclair, Dustin Sinclair, Jessica Ivey, and Elliot Wallace; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Wallace, Dixon Sinclair, Dr. Anthony Ditcharo, Jake Babin, Luis Ybarra, and Bill Sinclair.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11AM at Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Rick Kennedy officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
