James Hezzie Thornhill, 82 of McComb, MS passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born Thursday, September 25, 1941 in McComb, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS. Rev. He was preceded in death by his father, James Calvin Thornhill;  mother, Casey Bumpus Sugg;  brother, John Thornhill;  step-father, Sam Sugg;  sister-in-law, Fannie Thornhill.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Esther Jean Berry Thornhill of McComb, MS;  sons, Bobby Davis, Ralph Davis (Marilyn) and Kenny Thornhill (Kim);  daughters, Sonya Ramirez (Martin) and Mary Hudson (Audie);  12 Grandchildren;  sisters, Fay Sugg and Mary Ann Sugg;  11 Great Grandchildren;  A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, and friends;  special brother-in-law, Roland Sills; special sister-in-law, Ellen Sills;  special friend, Glynn Aulds.

Pallbearers will be John Thornhill Jr., Wayne Thornhill, Ricky Thornhill, Frankie Thornhill, Jamie Thornhill, and B. J. Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. Thornhill and Luke Williams.
