August 3, 1944 – January 22, 2018
James W. Mulford, Sr., 73, of Jayess, passed away, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. He was born August 3, 1944, in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Watson and Dorothy L. Stobie Mulford. He served 21 years with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department as a traffic patrolman; worked as a security officer for Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and later worked as a medical records clerk as SWRMC. Mr. Mulford was a true U.S. patriot and served his country in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert "Bobby" Mulford, Donald Mulford, Stanley Mulford, Janet Glelis, and Nicholas Glelis.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judi Linton Mulford of Jayess; his son and daughter-in-law, James W. Mulford, Jr. and Kim of St. Peters, MO; three daughters, Melissa Kaiser and husband, Jim of St. Louis, Sherry Tyler Greer and partner, Sam Coon of Walker, LA, and Tricia Chustz and husband, Barry of Silsbee, TX; a brother, Ronnie Mulford; honorary children, Tim and Sherry Howard; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Butch and Jackie, Eddie and Edith, Charlotte and Dorothy; grandchildren, Jessica Mulford, Lianna Tyler, Nicole Bryan, Jessica Kaiser, Savanna Barnett, Jonah Greer, Jimmy Kaiser, Jimmy Mulford, III, Corinne Chustz, Justin Kaiser, Sydnee Chustz, Aidan Chustz, Olivia Chustz, David Messner, and Nikki Messner.
Visitation is Thursday at Topeka Baptist Church, 824 China Grove Road, Jayess, MS 39641 from 5PM until 8PM and Friday from 12PM until services at 2PM with Rev. Dale Authement officiating. Burial will be in Roberts Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.
