Obituary

Mr. James E. Corban, 91, of Summit, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 4, 1931 in Summit, MS, to Charlie Corban and Myrtis McCullough Corban.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved raising a garden every year. He was a superintendent for Sherman and Clark Construction for 33 years. He also served active duty in the Korean War in the United States Army.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Earline (Ward) Jackson and Ida Ruth (Billy) Rials.

Survivors are his wife of 67 years, Ada Marie Corban; one son, Chuck Corban; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Ashe, Sarah Corban, Amelia Corban, and Jessie Smith; extended family, Elmo (Dot) Hill, Clyde, Larry, Tommy, Ginger, and Peggy Hill; and a host of family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Zach McGehee, Bill McGehee, Hunter Jackson, Jackie Anglin, Clyde Hill, Larry Hill, and Charles Ray Fortson.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Whittington Cemetery beginning at 10AM with Bro. Eric Moak officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
