Joseph Clifton "Jake" Seguin, Jr., passed away Thursday, August 3rd 2017 at the age of 70. Survived by his beloved Phoebe, wife of 40 years; his children: Brooke, Joseph Blake, daughter in law, Andrea. Grandchildren: Joseph Parker, Blakleigh, and Lawson Seguin. Sister, Caroline Beasley and brother in law, Larry Beasley. Preceded in death by his parents Nettie (Smith) and Joseph Clifton Seguin Sr. and younger sister, Darlene Seguin. Jake was a quiet man, but always ready with a subtle joke or pun. A dedicated Boy Scout, graduate of Baker High School (1964), avid hunter and fisherman, reformed hot rod tinkerer and racer, Air Force veteran serving during Vietnam, as well as, former reserve officer with the Baton Rouge City Police Force. Working at Exxon since 1969, Jake will be fondly remembered by his Exxon cohorts as "Jake the Snake." He was a man who could quite literally fix anything, even built two houses for his family from the ground up. Committed member and Choir Tenor of Covenant Community Church. Pallbearers will be Blake Seguin, Jeff Beasley, Andy Yarborough, Chad Yarborough, Keith Yarborough, and Chris Williams. A special thank you to the caregivers at Fresenius Dialysis Clinic in Zachary. Visitation will be August 5th at 10am at Covenant Community Church until service at 12pm. Followed by a graveside service in Summit MS, Jake's second home, to be interred at Johnston Chapel at 4pm.
