Jacqueline Eugenia
Fowler
July 4, 1925 – September 23, 2018
Jacqueline Eugenia Laird Fowler passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the home of her daughter Linda in Baton Rouge, LA. She was 93 years old, and a native of McComb, MS. She graduated from McComb High School and what is now Southwest Mississippi Community College. She lived for a time in Atlanta, GA, with her beloved sister, Evelyn, then returned to McComb and married Edgar A. Fowler, Jr., also a native of McComb, in 1946; they were married until his death in 2001. They moved to Baton Rouge with 1 year-old Linda in the early 1950s. Jackie loved music and singing, and had been a member of the BR Sweet Adelines. She loved decorating her house, and enjoyed landscaping her yard, caring for her fruit trees, and playing her organ. She especially enjoyed traveling; she and Ed traveled the U.S. extensively, and she loved telling people she had been in every state in the U.S.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A. Fowler, Jr., her mother, Edna Albritton Laird and her three sisters, Christine, Jeanette, and Evelyn.
She is survived by her three children, Linda Fowler Kemp and husband Paul, son Cary Fowler and daughter Shelly Fowler, and her beloved grandchildren Andrew Kemp, Nathan Kemp, Miles Goodman and Joseph Fowler, and five great-grandchildren, Jason, Jonas, Ezra, Leia and Cassidy.
