Mr. Hilton McDaniel, 79, of McComb, MS, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Southwest Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 16, 1946, to John Ellis McDaniel and Jennie Wilson McDaniel.

A visitation will be held at The Church of Healing Hearts, 3054 Old Industrial Road, McComb, MS, on September 24, 2026, from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Demond Kennedy and Bro. Buzz Smoots officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow in the church cemetery with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose greatest joy was his family. Hilton McDaniel for 52 wonderful years, was a devoted and loving husband, building a home filled with faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment alongside the love of his life.

He was a selfless family man who worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved. His family always came first, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He shared a particularly special bond with his favorite great-granddaughter, who brought endless joy to his heart and always held a special place in his life.

Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, he never met a stranger and could always make people laugh. Whether it was a funny joke, a clever story, or a nickname that somehow stuck for years, he had a gift for bringing smiles to everyone around him. His sense of humor made every gathering brighter and every memory a little sweeter.

A man of strong faith, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and lived with the confidence and hope that comes from a personal relationship with Him. He often spoke of Heaven and looked forward to the day he would be in the presence of his Savior. His faith guided his life and was an example to all who knew him.

When he wasn't spending time with family, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing, finding peace in God's creation and cherishing the time spent outdoors. He also had a special love for his faithful dog and took great pride in caring for his chickens, enjoying the comfort and satisfaction they brought to his daily life.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, hard work, devotion, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has received the blessed reward he long anticipated and is now home with the Lord he loved so dearly. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.

Hilton is preceded in death by his parents John Ellis and Jennie McDaniel; his wife Mary McDaniel; son-n-law, Patrick Summers; brothers, Marshall McDaniel, Charlie McDaniel, Henery McDaniel, Nathaniel McDaniel, Gifford McDaniel, and Milton McDaniel (his twin); one sister, Emma “Cootie” Case; two nephews, Roy Touchstone and Jerry Duncan.

He is survived by one daughter, Theresa Beeson (Jeremy); three grandchildren, Ashley Edmonds (Josh), Joshua “Skeeter” Summers (Brianna) and Shade Beeson; four great-grandchildren, Addison Edmonds, Patrick Cane Edmonds, Jace Edmonds and Wesley Edmonds; two sisters Dot Touchstone and Marie Travis; three very special friends, Larry Reid, Wayne Reed and Buzz Smoots.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to CVC nurses and Compasses Hospice.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Beeson, Joshua Summers, Bubba Philabar, Trent Summers, Colton Messina and Billy Wells Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are the Coffee Crew from Vine’s and Josh Edmonds.
