Mr. Hilton Dunaway Jr., 62, passed from this life on Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born on December 11, 1959 in McComb, MS, to Hilton Dunaway, Sr. and Narene Lawrence Dunaway.

He was a managing partner at Sonic of Petal for 30 years until he retired. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He spent a lot of his time reading. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 32 years, Rebecca Crowe Dunaway; three sisters, Cynthia Dunaway Moak (Charlie), Peggy Dunaway Chisholm (Keith), and Susan Dunaway Montgomery (Byron); two daughters, Amanda Cook, Nicole Dunaway Brown; sons, James David Cook, Hilton Lloyd Dunaway III (Jennifer); grandchildren, London Brooksey, Nolan Smith, Haley Dunaway, Dylan Cook, Paxtyn Neal, Harper Brown, Hil Dunaway IV, and Beaux Cook; and a host of family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Lawrence, Danny Temple, and Richard Lee.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 18, 2022, at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS beginning at 11:00 until time of service at 1:00. A graveside service will follow at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery in Amite, LA. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
