Obituary

Hilton Lloyd Dunaway, Sr., 89, of Summit, passed away, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1928 in Pike County. He was the son of Berice David and Lula Mae Spiers Dunaway Sartin. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger days and loved to restore old furniture. He was an avid woodworking enthusiast and could always been found drinking coffee with all the members of "The Market". He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Narene Lawrence Dunaway; a grandson, James Spencer Young and five brothers, Homer Lee, Robert Laverne, Cecil Dewey, Jerry Jean and Lewis Jones. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Hilton L. Dunaway, Jr. and Rebecca of Hattiesburg; his three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Charlie Moak of Bogue Chitto, Peggy and Keith Chisholm of Summit and Susan and Byron Montgomery of Ocean Springs; nine grandchildren, Jason Moak, Rusty Moak and wife, Nan, Michael Ray and wife, Shawna, Daniel Roberts and wife, Lauren, Valeri Ray, Nicole Dunaway, Lloyd Dunaway, III, Amanda Cook and David Cook; eight great-grandchildren, Nelia and Everett Moak, Alexia, Elizabeth and Mikey Ray, Haley Dunaway, Julian Baker Roberts and Dillon Cook; two sisters-in-law, Margie Dunaway of Colorado and Jean Dunaway of New Roads; one brother-in-law, Glen McCullough of Ruth and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is Wednesday at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS 39666 from 5PM until 8PM and Thursday from 10AM until services at 11AM with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery. Pallbearers are Lloyd Dunaway, III, Jason Moak, Rusty Moak, Michael Ray, Charlie Moak, Josh LaGrange, Nicole Dunaway and Leigh Ray.
