Harold Eugene Breeland, 90 of Summit, MS passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born Tuesday, January 2, 1934 in Tylertown, Mississippi to his parents, Rufus Eugene, Ethel Jane, and Stepmother Gladys Breeland.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 9:30 until 11:00 at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS. Dr. David Millican and Bro. Blake Emfinger will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-276-7475
Harold served in the U S Army from 1955-1959. After returning from military service, he met the love of his life, Lyvone McCullough at McComb City Drugstore and married her on December 31, 1959. He worked for Goodyear for 30 years as a manager of many stores throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. After 20 years residing in Kenner Louisiana, the Breelands moved back to Summit, MS to retire. Harold had a love of farm animals and raised cattle for many years after retirement. He was a Baptist and attended South McComb Baptist Church. He was a devoted Uncle and loved his Nieces & Nephews as they were his own. He will be terribly missed by his loving wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Breeland; mother, Ethel Spencer Breeland; sisters, Charlotte King and Maxine Major.
Survivors include his wife, Lyvone McCullough Breeland of Summit, MS; nieces, Gloria Cline (Michael) and Kelly Butters (Denver); brothers-in-law, Herbert McCullough, Sr. and Calvin McCullough (Renee); sisters-in-law, Hazel Reeves and Tera McCullough.
Pallbearers will be Glynn "Buck" McCullough, Laney McCullough, Herbert McCullough Jr., Mac McCullough, Calvin McCullough Jr., and Darryl McCullough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McCullough, Rex McCullough, and Wesley McCullough.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the South McComb Baptist Church general fund.
