Obituary

Mr. Gregory Dunaway, 58, of Summit, MS passed from this life on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 19, 1964 in McComb, MS to Marshall "MJ" Dunaway and Lovell Brown Dunaway.

Mr. Dunaway was retired after 31 years of service as a Superintendent for the MS Dept Of Transportation and was self-employed as a food vendor for 27 years at many festivals and street fairs locally and out of state. He especially loved cooking chicken-on-a-stick and funnel cakes and teaching others what he knew about being a vendor at such events. He loved catering fundraisers for local organizations such as Relay4Life, P.A.L.S, Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs and many different baseball teams and churches. Many referred to him as "the chicken-on-a-stick man" and he loved it! He was also a very talented woodworker and could make just about anything from beautiful cabinets to children's toys. He was a very hard worker and a devoted family man, dependable and trustworthy. He loved his wife and family more than anything in this life. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents MJ Dunaway and Lovell Dunaway; one brother-in-law, Lonnie Keist and niece Sara Keist.

Survivors are his wife, Angela Dunaway; one son, Jacob Dunaway; three stepsons, Michael Agnew, Chris Agnew, Ryan Agnew; two sisters, Glenda Whatley (Ray) and Grindl Keist; two grandchildren, Henley and Brinley Dunaway; six step-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Joseph King, Robert Baker, Mark Ward, Tyler Dunn, Ricky Bozeman and Jamie Allen.

The family requests memorials to be made in his name to P.A.L.S. in lieu of flowers.
